Few people know how to properly charge a power bank and use it effectively

Due to frequent power outages, a power bank has become an indispensable device for every Ukrainian.
To make your Power Bank last a long time, it is important to know and follow the rules of its operation. UAportal team has collected useful tips.
How to charge power banks - power sources for devices:
- Through an outlet: Manufacturers recommend charging power banks in this way, as it is faster and safer than via the USB port of a laptop or computer.
- Via a desktop PC or laptop: This is also a possible option, although less efficient.
- Through a smartphone: Some phones can not only receive but also give off energy.
- Through a car cigarette lighter: This is convenient for car owners, but requires an adapter with a USB port.
- Using sunlight: If your power bank is equipped with solar panels, you can use solar energy to charge it.
The manufacturer's instructions usually describe the charging technology. Here are general recommendations from experts on how to charge your power bank properly:
- Charge a new power bank to 100%.
- Discharge it to zero for the first 2-3 cycles to "warm up" the battery.
- In the future, do not allow the power bank to be completely discharged, as this reduces the battery life. Put the power bank on charge when it has 10-25% of the battery left.
- Try to charge the device to 100% - charging less will reduce the battery capacity faster.
- The best way to charge the power bank is to connect it to an adapter whose amperage corresponds to the input port (IN) of the external battery.
Charging time for 10000, 20000, 30000, 50000 mAh power banks:
- Without fast charging (QC), theoretically required:
- for 10000 mAh - 10 hours,
- for 20000 mAh - 20 hours,
- for 30000 mAh - 30 hours.
- Models with fast charging (QC) charge much faster - a 20,000 mAh power bank can charge in 3-4 hours.
